Bar-headed Goose

Originally an endemic species of high-altitude plains in Central Asia, Bar-Headed Goose were introduced in Canada and Spain and have meanwhile established breeding populations in several European countries.

From 2008 onwards, Bar-headed Geese have been ringed with neckbands and colour rings in Mongolia (dark green with white codes). In The Netherlands, 7 individuals were ringed in 2009 near Arkemheen, province Gelderland. These birds have dark green legrings with a 3-digit code.

For all other colour ring schemes on this species, please check http://www.cr-birding.org/ for contact details and please report them directly to the ringers.
